Défi Sportif AlterGo
Sport Relief Fund Spotlight
November 20, 2020
In 1984, Défi sportif AlterGo’s executive director, Monique Lefebvre, set out to create an event that shed light on the capabilities and talents of people with functional limitations and to change society’s perception of them. Since then, it has become Canada’s largest multi-sport event and more than 8,000 athletes from Québec and around the world participate annually.
The organization uses sport year-round to help kids maintain an active lifestyle that is adapted to their abilities, keep them motivated and raise their self-confidence in all aspects of their lives. Défi sportif AlterGo believes that sports matter because they play a crucial role in the health and wellbeing of young people and their families. The grant from Jumpstart’s Sport Relief Fund will be used to help the organization provide additional support to schools and keep youth with functional limitations active all year long.
