We are thrilled to share that the Jumpstart Inclusive Playground at Shouldice Park in Calgary was recently voted Best Accessible/Inclusive Experience for Kids by Calgary Child. This popular family magazine and resource surveyed Calgary-area parents, educators and readers on their favourite local attractions and resources, with the Jumpstart playground emerging as a top choice.
The 16,000 square foot playground opened in June of 2019 and features accessible surfacing, double-wide ramps, sensory play centres and a variety of thoughtfully designed features that allow kids of all abilities to play side-by-side.
This is the second such award a Jumpstart Playground has received, after being awarded the BC Recreation and Parks Association (BCRPA) Parks Excellence Award for the Jumpstart Playground in Unwin Park, Surrey in 2021.
A huge thank you to Mark, Christina and Nicole Caldwell, Canadian Tire McKenzie Towne, The Dand Family in Memory of Allan Dand, Rob, Lori & Ben Hatch, Terry & Velma MacKinnon and Family, Warren & Tanya Pariseau, Chris & Caroline Pustowka, Respect Group, Mike & Pat Varley and Family, and all the Canadian Tire Dealers and donors who made the Calgary playground possible!
