Eligible Organizations

To be eligible for a Community Development Grant, applicants must be qualified donees as defined by the Canada Revenue Agency.

Program Requirements

Eligible programs should meet the following requirements:

  • Run for a minimum of 5 hours total 
  • Consist of at least 5 sessions
  • Include a minimum of 25 participants aged 4–18 years old
  • Remove barriers to participation for kids from families in financial need

Long-Term Athlete Development and Quality Sport

Jumpstart strives to support quality sports and physical recreational programming by funding programs that align with the Sport for Life Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) Framework. Applicants should review the LTAD framework and identify how their proposed programming aligns with the development stages specific to the sport and age of their participants.

At Jumpstart, the safety and well-being of the communities we support are extremely important to us, and we will continue to support families and children in the future. However, please note that as a result of ongoing changes due to COVID-19, our grant timelines have changed and our Fall 2020 application period (normally August to October) will be pushed back. Disbursement of Funds

Funds will be disbursed in two intervals for approved grants:

  1.  30% upon acceptance, prior to program start date 
  2.  70% upon submission of child data

Data Reporting

Before final payment is disbursed, successful applicants will be required to upload the names, dates of birth, postal codes, and genders of all program participants to their grant portal. In addition, Jumpstart requires submission of a final report upon completion of the program, based on an outline provided by Jumpstart. Failure to submit reporting may result in termination of the grant, repayment of all or part of Jumpstart funds and disqualification of the organization to receive future funding from Jumpstart.
