Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities

Annual Report 2018

Our Vision

Canada, where all kids have a chance

 to fulfill their dreams.

Our Mission

To enrich the lives of all kids in-need through

 sports and physical activity.

Message from our Leadership

For nearly a century, Canadian Tire has proudly supported communities from coast-to-coast. In 2005, the fundamental spirit of giving instilled by our founders, A.J. and J.W. Billes, was ignited by Jumpstart’s Chairman Emeritus, Martha Billes. She had a bold, determined vision: a Canada where all kids have a chance to fulfill their dreams, where no child is left out of sport and recreation.

In 2018, to celebrate the union of Prince Harry and Meaghan Markle, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced that, on behalf of the Government of Canada, a donation of $50,000 would be made to Jumpstart. Jumpstart is grateful for the support and partnerships of all levels of government: municipal, provincial, and federal. The Government of Canada continues to be a dedicated source of encouragement and support for Jumpstart. It is through its contributions over the years that nearly 2 million children have had the opportunity to participate in sport, recreation and play.
