JUMPSTART DAY 2012 - Together we can help all kids play!

Saturday, May 26th is Jumpstart Day. Come be a part of something amazing – helping kids from financially disadvantaged families in your local community get involved in sport and recreation. On Jumpstart Day, every Canadian Tire store in Canada will have a day filled with fun activities and draws to help raise money for their local community. Some examples of events taking place this year include: Go Clean waterless car washes, balloon pops for your chance to win some amazing prizes, table top games and much more! Last year, this one day helped 30,000 children get off the sidelines and into the game. Come out to your local Canadian Tire store on Saturday, May 26 and help kids in your local community get in the game.

ONE MILLION RED BALLS

One of Jumpstart’s most popular fundraising programs - the Red Ball fundraiser is back! This year Jumpstart has released two new designs of the red ball; a basketball and a baseball in support of Jumpstart Day. Starting May 4th Canadian Tire stores and Gas+ locations will be offering the red balls in exchange for a donation of $2.

Pita Pit has also proudly joined Jumpstart as a national sponsor for Jumpstart Day. For the month of May you can visit your local Pita Pit location to make a $2 donation to Jumpstart and in return you’ll receive a red ball and a coupon for $1 your next Pita Pit pita purchase.

From May 1st to June 30, 2012 you can visit the Jumpstart Canadian mosaic at www.onemillionredballs.ca, Everyone that registered is also eligible to win a weekly prize of $100 Canadian Tire or Mark’s gift card. If you upload a photo of you and your red ball you will be entered for a chance to win either a $5000 shopping spree to Canadian Tire and Mark’s or Gas for a Year from Gas+.

Pita Pit

PitaPete This year Pita Pit has come on board as a national sponsor of Jumpstart on Jumpstart Day. Throughout the month of May participating locations will be distributing red balls in exchange for a $2.00 donation towards Jumpstart. For every donation made at Pita Pit you will receive a $1.00 off coupon towards your next pita purchase. Pita Pit will also generously donate $2.00 for every photo uploaded to the One Million Red Balls Online Contest. Find a Pita Pit near you.

Also, throughout the month of May for every Facebook "like" the Pita Pit Facebook page gets they will generously donate an extra $1 per like to Jumpstart. Go directly to Pita Pit's Facebook page.

This year for Jumpstart Day goclean waterless has generously donated waterless carwash kits to all participating Canadian Tire stores. As seen on Dragon's Den goclean is a waterless car wash solution with no harmful chemicals and most importantly no water! One wash saves 100 gallons of water and can be used on any hard surface. You can wash, wax, polish and protect in one application. Together on Jumpstart Day we will try and break the record for the world's largest charity carwash. Visit your local Canadian Tire store to join the celebration.

Jumpstarters' Dragon Boat finishes 3rd, twice!

In their second year as a team, the Jumpstarters Dragon Boat team achieved a third place finish, twice in the recent 23rd Annual Toronto International Dragon Boat Race Festival on Centre Island. With three solid months of practicing, paddling with passion and commitment, through all types of weather, the team pulled together for their best finish yet.

Placing third in both our Industry Cup and our Division Final, and overachieving their donation goal, by raising an amazing $8,338! This is a huge accomplishment, more than doubling last year's total.

Canadian Tire Jumpstart Invitational Golf Tournament

Special thanks to presenting sponsor Shell Lubricants for helping make the 18th Annual Canadian Tire Jumpstart Invitational Golf Tournament, held on August 17, 2011, our biggest and best yet. We'd also like to thank all of the golfers, volunteers, donors and sponsors for their generosity in helping us reach our goal of $1,100,000. The funds raised will help kids in financial need participate in organized sport and recreation.

When you buy one of the selected products a donation will be made on your behalf to help support Canadian Tire Jumpstart. Together, we can help kids in need participate in sports and recreation.

Jump to South Africa

In 2010, Coca-Cola generously donated a trip for 2 to the FIFA World Cup in South Africa to encourage Canadian youth to raise funds for the Canadian Tire Jumpstart program. An incredible $48,222 was raised, helping 500 kids across Canada get involved in organized sport and recreation.

Congratulations to the top fundraiser Tiffany Froese who raised $7,841! In June, Tiffany and a friend travelled to South Africa to take part in the Coca-Cola soccer training camp at the High Performance Centre, attended a World Cup soccer game between South Africa and Uruguay and experienced an authentic African Safari adventure.
